Identified by its green to greyish colonies, P. cyclopium thrives in moderate humidity and is often associated with cereals, nuts, and various stored foods. As a spoilage mould, it can produce off-flavours and allergenic spores. Good pantry management and regular rotation of stored items reduce the likelihood of encountering this fungus in significant amounts.
