A “wet rot” fungus forming soft, gelatinous fruiting bodies on water-saturated wood. Less common than Serpula lacrymans but still capable of causing substantial decay if left untreated. Its presence usually signals severe moisture problems, such as leaks or poor drainage. Comprehensive repair of water damage and removal of colonised wood are needed for long-term remediation.
