Unusual among Aspergillus species for its ability to grow under relatively low moisture conditions, A. restrictus can sometimes be found in what appear to be “dry” areas, like dusty corners, textiles, and stored grain. Its spores, though less obvious in indoor environments, can accumulate over time. Individuals with sensitivity to moulds may experience respiratory symptoms if exposed to heavy concentrations. Minimising dust accumulation and ensuring good ventilation are vital control measures.
