The sexual stage of certain Aspergillus species (notably A. amstelodami), Eurotium amstelodami is xerophilic, meaning it tolerates low moisture. It often contaminates dried foods (e.g. grains, nuts, spices). While it prefers dry conditions, it can still produce airborne spores that may be allergenic. Properly sealing and storing dry goods, and rotating pantry items, help limit colonisation by this fungus.
