Fungal overgrowth (Otomycosis) can occur in the outer ear canal, leading to ear pain, discharge, and itchiness. Warm, humid climates or frequent water exposure (e.g. swimming) increase risk. Mould-friendly conditions in bathrooms or swimming gear can contribute to repeated ear canal fungal infections. Drying the ears properly and treating any mould growth in living areas can help prevent recurrence.
