Colonies are fluffy and may quickly sporulate, producing a whitish to greyish “cotton ball” effect. While it poses minimal risk to most people, immunocompromised individuals could be vulnerable to infection. Maintaining good hygiene in cold storage and regularly checking for signs of mould can help control it.
