Responsible for “Phomopsis cane and leaf spot” in grapevines, P. viticola usually remains in vineyards. If infected plant material is brought indoors (e.g. pruned vines stored improperly), the fungus may theoretically spread in high-moisture situations. Not typically an indoor mould, it poses little risk unless large amounts of contaminated debris accumulate. Disposing of or sterilising infected plant matter prevents unwelcome establishment inside.
